    Description

Offered is this antique land deed from Oglethorpe County, Georgia, dated March 22, 1895. The document records a transfer of land between Mary and Nannie Adkins and William Adkins. Interestingly, the document states the land adjoins lands owned by the Georgia Railroad. The usual county clerk information is on the back. The paper has a distinctive, easily seen "James River" watermark (see last photo).
The document measures approx. 14" x 8 1/2". It is in good condition for its age. Because it has been folded several times some tears have developed on the document edges at the fold lines. There is some light spotting and foxing. The writing is very dark and easily readable in the main document but the clerk information on the other side is lighter and harder to read.
The document will be sent folded.
