he Egermann glass company is located

n the scenic city of Novy Bor, in the

eautiful area of Northern Bohemia, Czech

epublic.

he company started production in the
b
eginning of the 19th century and it is
s
till operating by producing stunning
v
aluable decoration art glasses.
T
he name became famous by a glass painter
a
nd glass technician, Friedrick Egermann.
H
e invented the Lithyalin glass in 1829,
g
iving the glass a marble look or precious
s
tones. Finally, in 1832 he invented the
r
ed glaze with just copper ions instead of
u
sing expensive gold. Afterwards, he became
f
amous all over the world with his unusual
t
echnic and glass work.
I
t is a very time consuming process which
m
akes the Egermann art works very desirable and valuable.

irca 1950-1960 or maybe older.

ever used as an ash tray, always proudly

isplayed on a side table in our home for

any, many years.

repair.
