Description

For auction is an antique 1800s cast iron mortar and pestle. In addition to being used in apothecaries, these were frequently found on farms to grind and prepare animal medicine. I found this at a farm auction. Both pieces are in excellent condition. The only flaw is a 1/16" ding on the edge of the mortar. It is so small it is difficult to see. The pestle is 10 1/2" long. The mortar is 6" tall and 7" in diameter at the top.
