UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS VINTAGE 1914 CAST IRON "FIDO" PUPPY HUBLEY METAL BANK BOSTON TERRIER STILL BANK AND DOOR STOP by GRACE DRAYTON.
This item is a wonderful vintage cast iron Hubley "Fido" Still Bank.  On the back of the puppy's head is a patent date the patent date of 1914.   These early Hubley Cast Iron Banks were also used a Door Stops as they have some nice weight. This piece is not marked Hubley, but it is an early Hubley Cast Iron Bank and this cute puppy has the name "FIDO" Written on the collar. The name "Fido" was the protected property of Hubley. It appears that the original paint is still on this Cast Iron Bank UNDER the white paint that is on it.  You can see the turquoise under the white paint where someone scratched away the white to see if it is an original.  There are definitely chips on the paint-over.  It has all of the feet to the pillow with no other parts broken off as some others for sale have been.  It is a great piece that stands about 6" high and the pillow is about 7" wide.  It weighs about 5 pounds.
