Awesome Molded Celluloid/Plastic Cameo Necklace
We're pleased to offer for your consideration this wonderful vintage
art deco
era molded celluloid/plastic/Bakelite(?) cameo necklace. It was made circa 1920. The cameo is carved black, possibly Bakelite, placed on a square of clear yellow celluloid plastic, and on a chain of yellow celluloid links. The square is embellished with etched lines on the 4 corners, and "teeth" on the edges.
Size of the cameo is 2" square, and the chain is 26" length. Condition is good, with
no chips or cracks
. There are some lines in the back from the manufacture that are not cracks—please see pictures. This beautiful vintage necklace came from a country estate auction in Virginia's beautiful
